The boy-cats are interested in nearly everything that I do.
I had four roses to plant on the front lawn.
Nellie is fascinated with my excavations.
"You rang?"
Nellie [left] and Bobby.
Edward is in the house--lazy!
Rough and tumble.
Nellie: "Maybe I'll take a nap in the hole."
"Anything more we can do to help?"
Your boys are such fun ...shame Edward missed out on the games...I an sure I could sit and watch them for hours.Love the 'Rose header' btw.xx
ReplyDeleteAngie; Edward is something of a 'house plant.' He is often lolling about when his brothers are busy!
DeleteGorgeous little helpers! Did you eventually get your roses planted?
ReplyDeleteLinda; The roses have settled in well. Several days of cloudy and rainy weather were good for them. Its a good thing my helpers are cute--they are little pests!
DeleteI love the kittens on your blog header!
Having them along would make any outdoor chore fun.
ReplyDeleteI love to watch cats in the garden, ours is always so curious, but sometimes too interested in the turtles in the lagoon.
ReplyDeleteJanet; Depending on the size of the turtles, they might be a match for a fishing cat. Lagoon: I tend to think of slithering creatures!
DeleteI bet the paws were nice and muddy after this.

xx
they are funny, I think I could get to like yard work with them around!
ReplyDeleteKath; the 'boy cats' are some of the most inventive and amusing felines who have ever moved into our space. Better they help with gardening rather than quilting--I took a big pin away from Bobby last week!
DeleteI do miss watching my cats. They were endlessly entertaining. However, Snippet would eat a kitten if came to the house, so best not.
ReplyDeleteEm; I've wondered why some dogs with otherwise pleasant manners are determined to exterminate any cat they see. Luckily, the times we've kept a dog he/she was fine with our felines. Our last dog, a Border Collie called Higgins, was rather intimidated by cats.
ReplyDeleteThey look like they are having a grand time playing while you garden. They just love 'helping'.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ~ FlowerLady
Lorraine; Keeping track of these cats is almost like minding a toddler while I work. They are great company, but sometimes a nuisance!
DeleteYour boys do remind me of my boys! Theo (Whiskers) is now an "honorary brother" with Alfie (Wild Thing) and Jarvis aka Little Whale (Bonzo!) - Keith's names for them in parenthisis!!! The boys hurtle up and down the stairs and "fight" each morning. Sometimes the play fights get out of hand and someone gets hurt and THEN it really starts in earnest! They are SO much easier to get on with than the girls, who are all very much individuals and want their own space. I loved your photos of the boys "helping" you, especially in keeping that hole warm for the roses . . .
ReplyDeleteJennie; I'm trying to think back over the years of cats if our 'girls' were more difficult than our 'boys.' We've enetertained some strange personalities [neurotics!] of both sexes. I do think its wonderful that catly ways are the same on both sides of the ocean. I love the mystery and unpredictability of the feline race.
DeleteThe pictures and captions are great.
ReplyDeleteLillian
Lillian; My favorite photo is the one where both cats are looking over their shoulders at something. [What? I didn't see it!]
DeleteAww, your kitties are too cute!! Isn't is so funny how kitties love to nap in the strangest spaces?! I bet they were great company to you while you planted your roses!
ReplyDeleteTrisha; My life would be dull without cats. Their company is worth any amount of nuisance value!
DeleteI love that your Suey eats green peas.
