It didn't thrive, but then nothing much flourishes in my arrid strip of garden. I've noticed that many of the plants which are naturalized here are also familiar in UK, so I'm surprised to here that Joe Pye isn't one of them. It is a relative of the white flowered boneset which I think you may have.Morning's Minionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912356455981434029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-85053593583913515252009-09-17T05:19:07.468-04:002009-09-17T05:19:07.468-04:00Yours is the second post about Joe Pye Weed that I...Yours is the second post about Joe Pye Weed that I've read this morning - I have it in my garden and had no idea what it's called. Of course in UK it's an expensive bought from a garden centre perennial, not a wild flower:) It's interesting to read the origin of the name - I like the idea that he was a Native American healer.
I had to laugh at the picture conjured up by your description of your forays to the shed!Rowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13679130612798888266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-86902440482862799582009-09-14T19:14:13.125-04:002009-09-14T19:14:13.125-04:00Those wild flowers were perfect for your gathering...Those wild flowers were perfect for your gathering and I hope many happy memories were shared on that day.

Your recount of the shed made me smile ... I have several cupboards that are full of boxes. Periodically they get rearranged when I get an urge to look for something I am sure is there ... sadly I rarely find it and have to resign myself to the fact that I probably disposed of it before I moved.
Old herbal medicines fascinate me ...I wonder what is in the leaves that helps so many things.Angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12177505346903016669noreply@blogger.com
