By the time I finish one I am often less than enthused about the project, but when one of our accomplished machine quilters has worked her magic and the quilt comes back to me, I am usually pleased with the finished product.
I delight in the varied crafts which each of you share. Life couldn't be long enough to dabble in all the intriguing mediums that beckon. I do think that in appreciating another's skills, we validate not only that person, but find fresh inspiration ourselves and realize that the things we create and give away are expressions of love.
Angie: you have hit on a theory that J.'s late Mom cherished: that of convincing a man that a wonderful idea is his very own!Morning's Minionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912356455981434029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-55128050365333640972009-12-07T19:53:37.068-05:002009-12-07T19:53:37.068-05:00Wow! I do think you should display your work, because I think we try harder when we know someone else will be looking at it.ChrisJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11550420299395301062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-17740642992455052642009-12-07T18:35:42.903-05:002009-12-07T18:35:42.903-05:00Thank you for showing us your beautiful quilts. I made a tiny lap quilt last year for my MIL and can appreciate the immense work that went into them all.
I so agree with your comments about learning a craft or skill. It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one to get a bit carried away with all that I try, though :)Yarrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06662236319781194283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-35566195629098712692009-12-07T07:00:36.822-05:002009-12-07T07:00:36.822-05:00You brag away ....you really have reason to ...wha...You brag away ....you really have reason to ...what amazing work ...I could house all of them lol. The Snow ball caught the eye yet so did the ones using autumnal tones. The log cabin star is dramatic ...both colour combinations are beautiful as is the baby one ....and then theres the wonderfully masculine batik quilt but I love them all even the ones I have not mentioned ...like the bear paw ....and ...........
Could J not build a house with your own display area ....start hinting now and then when he does your final home he will think it was his idea lolxxAngiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12177505346903016669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-82307356765966217032009-12-07T03:12:41.118-05:002009-12-07T03:12:41.118-05:00These are so beautiful - not bragging at all. I never got beyond log-cabin and still use it to frame journal pages. Thank yo so much for sharing, and for your kind comments on my 'illness'. The scare has made me value life even more, and it is the act of creating that is helping me to slow down, in a strange sort of way.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
