Yes, I suppose our grandparents, parents even, would find us spoiled!Morning's Minionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912356455981434029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-85741530821702133732017-01-08T23:29:30.281-05:002017-01-08T23:29:30.281-05:00Lovely post, - we are so spoiled now, but memories...Lovely post, - we are so spoiled now, but memories are dear.Hildredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05420791064923078834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-7795955618870511372017-01-07T20:36:19.108-05:002017-01-07T20:36:19.108-05:00Karen; I would rather write about the memories of ...Karen; I would rather write about the memories of New England in winter than tackle that weather again in person! In KY we know that spells of real cold will be of short duration.
An Irish fisherman knit sweater--what a great find! Its hard not to gloat when we come across treasures at a fraction of the original price.
The photos of Ling Ling, touched my heart--so like my beloved Eggnog. Pet lovers know that the death of a special animal is a unique kind of loss. I've noticed that the other cats in our household notice and seem to search for the departed one.
Isn't it lovely to sit by the wood fire when it is cold outside? Somehow more comforting [and more work!] than turning up a thermostat.
Morning's Minionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912356455981434029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-88828140232811751442017-01-07T19:47:45.274-05:002017-01-07T19:47:45.274-05:00Some 'warm' and lovely memories of growing...Some 'warm' and lovely memories of growing up in Vermont with the Yankee spirit of 'Making do or doing without'! I loved reading about your childhood memories of those bone-chilling New England winters (being a Yank myself, growing up in Mass.). Your sweater collection sounds wonderful and I have a similar one. It is so hard to part with some of them despite going out of style or getting threadbare. Every fall I look forward to unpacking them all once again and adding to my collection with sales and thrifty finds. I recently found a beautiful Irish fisherman knit, in perfect condition for less than $10. I almost ran out of the store thinking they were going to call me back and say it was a pricing mistake! My dear hubby just filled up the wood-box and we are sitting here very cozy as it snows outside. Thank you for your kind words on the loss of my little cat. I enjoyed this post. x KarenKaren @ Beatrice Euphemiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08631972741518142563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7314065896417867122.post-86037328738472738102017-01-07T19:39:10.589-05:002017-01-07T19:39:10.589-05:00Susie; The kitty sweater is special--in part becau...Susie; The kitty sweater is special--in part because my daughter chose it for me and also because it is a cute idea. We still close off our drafty front door, but now with that plastic 3M kits. In the single digits here too.
