Boy Cats

Grandson D. loves to get the kittens 'going'--and they love to play.
Bobby McGee is quite interested in hair. He clambers about on my pillow some mornings when I am waking up--chews the end of my braid and tries to pull it loose.

Nellie is such a lovely boy. He is the most mellow of the three.

Aren't the tuffits on his ears pretty?

Bobby McGee is the most adventurous.
Here he has climbed to the top of the old apple tree.
When he was ready to descend, he came down nimbly with no fuss.

The three boys are seldom far from each other.
Here they cuddle on a chilly evening.

We have moles tunneling about in our dooryard. Little Edward hears them and
smacks at them.  Occasionally one pops out and he snatches it [Sigh]
Bobby McGee surveys the goings and comings of humans and other cats from the stump of the redbud tree at the edge of the carport.

    1. Deb; Nellie is the one visitors notice first for his striking looks. He has a very laid back personality which has earned him the affectionate nickname of 'dustmop'

  2. Beautiful kittens. Bobby McGee has quite a tail! He must use it for balance when climbing. How do you tell them apart?

    1. Chris; If you look closely, you'll see the three brothers have fairly distinctive colorings.
Bobby's tail feels stumpy at the end--we suspect the tip may have been broken when he was tiny. The tail floats behind him like a sail when he runs across the yard--or when he is climbing.

  3. I love these photos Sharon! the three boys look so happy and content, knowing they have a good forever home with you. I love little Edwards photo, all stretched out! All three have lovely faces, dont they?

    1. Leanne; You know I groaned when these kittens appeared--dirty and starving. I could only think of the added expense and responsibility.
Now we wouldn't part with a one of them--in addition to being pretty cats they have tremendous personalilties, each one distinctive.

  4. I have to say, I prefer boy cats to girl cats, as they have a more laid back temperament - the girls tend to be bitchy and nowty, but that's possibly just the mixture we have had turn up here.

Your three boys look such loves and I wish I was closer so I could come and give them all a cuddle.

I wonder if they have some Maine Coone or Norwegian Forest cat in their ancestry - I think Maine Coones have tufty ears like that.

    1. Jennie; I always wonder about the ancestry of long-haired cats in particular. Now that they are clean and well-nourished all three have lovely coats, though Edward is short-haired.
I was trying to think if more of our girl-cats have been tempermental over the years--we've had a few cantakerous ones of both genders.
If you could pop in for a cup of tea you'd surely have one of these boys in your lap--they love to cuddle. I am typing around a lapful of Nellie at the moment--think large white paw patting at the keyboard.

    1. Kath; These kittens surely bring us many smiles in the course of a day--they are so funny. They also bring on their share of 'Oh, NO!'

  6. I just love those pictures. I'm surprised Bobby McGee isn't going after the Christmas cactus. My daughter's cats won't leave hers alone.

    1. Lillian; I expected the cactus with its dangling blossoms to be a prime target, but for the most part it was ignored. The Angel Wing begonias have taken more than their share of battering.

  7. They are just dolls, MM. I love them.
Funny, that siblings have different personalities, just like us. I have siblings and each is so different from the other.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

    1. Vicki; Isn't it amazing that even litter-mates can be so different? Nellie is mellow [almost lazy] Bobby is very adventurous, Little Edward--well--its a good thing he is very charming, because he is also quite naughty!
